大工の心遣い
大工さんの気配りが素晴らしい。木を切り倒すこともできたのに、階段の板に穴をあけて木を邪魔しないように階段を作った。奥入瀬渓流からレストランに登る階段。

Nature-friendly Heart
I saw this tree
surrounded by the steps that lead to a restaurant near the Oirase River in
Aomori Prefecture. I was impressed at the warm-hearted carpenters who built the
steps. They did not cut down the tree, but preserved it by cutting a hole in
two pieces of wooden board. The tree, whose name is probably shirakaba, will
grow as freely as before.
