A Surprise during the Dredging
While I was walking along the
Yamazaki River near my house, I saw a crane dredging the river. Its bed was
shallow and half of its width was covered with the soil which had been
accumulated for a long period of time.
I happened to talk with a traffic control
man standing in the bridge. What he said surprised me. According to him, a lot
of trash was found during the dredging, including bicycles, tires, televisions,
furniture, surfing boards, beer cans, and kitchen utensils.
That was why a lot of mud and soil was
accumulated in the river. A Nagoya citizen must pay a certain amount of money to
have their oversized trash collected by the city collectors. They threw the
trash into the river instead of paying the money. How selfish they are!
